From 27th through the 29th of May 2011 Carinthia was the place to be of the Austrian Icelandic Horses Scene, since there the National Championships but also the much-anticipated first World Championship Qualification were staged. Spectacular performances by Carina Mayerhofer, Piet Hoyos & Co already spread "World Championship Atmosphere" and showed the promising talents of the future "Equipe d'Autriche". 

Speed and expression - those are the words to describe the runs of Carina Mayerhofer at its best, as she won the F1 final with Galdur frá Flagbjarnarholti (7.21) in a whole note ahead. A thrilling performance  was also shown in T1 (tölt award). With a total score of 7.72 Piet Hoyos and Heimir frá Holtsmúla convinced the judges in this competition. The tölt test was dominated by Petra Reiter Tropper who obtained a final score of 7.33 which equals the first place. The gold medal in theV1-finals was won by Johanna and Frank-Stabinger with Eythor frá Feti.

Situation remains interesting, because in just two weeks the challenge for the World Championship places continues: on 11th and 12th of June 2011 the World Championship Qualification tournament for pace tests takes place in Weistrach. Followed by the 2nd World Championship Qualification & FIZO at the Islandpferde Reithof Piber from 23rd through 26th of June, and from 14th through the 17th of July 2011 the 3rd World Championship Qualification and Austrian Championships & State Championships at the Iceland Horse Piet Hoyos will take place.

Under the slogan "The magic gaits", the World Championships of Icelandic Horses 2011 from 1st – 7th of August 2011 in St. Radegund, Upper Austria, at the “Islandpferde Reithof Piber” will be staged. Top international riders from around the world are going to present their horses and their "magic gaits" in an impressive manner. Perfect conditions for the equestrian facilities are crucial to the horses and their riders to guarantee optimised training - and to ensure competitive conditions.
